GUEST REVIEWS
Had the most perfect stay here at Eller How – the house is an absolute gem and we can’t wait to return in the future! Thank you Nina and Sam for your hospitality and kindness during our short time here – you both have been amazing.

Thank you for the most wonderful 4 day retreat from the world at beautiful Eller How. We are leaving relaxed, happy and bronzed by the excellent weather you organised! This house is so special. What an inspiring place to be for a few days. We really look forward to booking again soon – the kids are already asking when we’re coming back!

Eller How has provided a much needed break and, with imagination, a picture of life nearly two hundred years ago! The house set in such secluded mature grounds it really does allow you to relax. It is well placed for many of the towns and villages and of course Windermere.

From the moment we stepped foot in Eller How we have enjoyed the traditional but opulent Lakeland experience – what a beautiful place! It’s rare to find such mature grounds, with the occasional badger colony and bird of prey – with such a well preserved period home. Throw in the mix the very welcoming and relaxed hosts and it’s a recipe for a fantastic break. We look forward to coming back again soon.

An inviting path
To slow down
To bathe in sunlight
Walking in hues of green
Watch nature in it’s perfection
Reflect in hope
Dream in colour
Far away from home
Yet at home
That’s how Eller How House made my family and I feel. Many thanks to Nina and Sam, we hope to be back to enjoy it again soon!

Beautiful house and grounds. It was like stepping back in time to a more elegant age, but with modern day facilities – perfect! Thank you for a lovely stay Sam and Nina. For your warm, friendly welcome and for allowing us to share your magical house and gardens.

Just returned from a lovely weekend at Eller How House. The house is full of character and charm and the lounge and the master bedroom are absolutely fabulous! The house is set in acres of land which provide walks through woods, along grassland and near the lake – we even spotted a deer! The garden is great for al fresco dining or playing games with the children. Locally we found some lovely pubs for tea and enjoyed lake swimming, coastal walks and a visit to Levens Hall and gardens. Would highly recommend this property for families who like accommodation offering peace and tranquility but with easy access to all the South Lakes has to offer.

We absolutely loved our stay at Eller How House, the house was beautiful, as were the grounds and they really captured our imagination and allowed us to relax (and have a break from city life).
I also enjoyed hearing about the history of the house – very interesting! Our ‘super” hosts were so welcoming, kind and helpful.
The location is perfect for seeing all the sights of the Lake District. We managed to visit Brockhole, Bowness, Coniston and Sandscale Haws (sand dunes) – all highly recommended.
Thank you Nina and Sam, we would love to return again in the future.

Hard to put into words how marvellous this place is! We have loved every minute of our stay here despite the fact that it rained constantly for 3 days! The facilities are first rate, the log fire was lovely, the grounds beautiful! Nina and Sam so helpful and friendly. All six of us absolutely loved it!!

Where do I begin…. A lovely lovely home. Not just a house, but a big, warm, beautiful home. The beautiful bedrooms, the cosy kitchen, huge hallways and shiny shower rooms. We all loved every last bit. As if it couldn’t get any better, a beautiful house hosted by a beautiful family. Just beautiful, beautiful and more beautiful! You have welcomed us so kindly and we appreciate your care and attention. Until next time…..

An amazing place for the three of us, we felt like we were lords and ladies of a manor house for the weekend. Our hosts, Nina and Sam, were wonderful and helpful. We are already thinking this may be our new family holiday home in the Lakes and can’t wait to come back in the not too distant future.
LOUIS
Fabulous week in your wonderful property. The walk to the folly was amazing with views to die for!!!

A beautiful home and beautiful hosts! Couldn’t have asked for more. Everywhere I turned it was a pretty and interesting views of the house and the grounds, as we visited in autumn, it was truly magical. I’ll book again for the warmth and the joy! Can’t wait!!
KAT
A truly wonderful stay – thank you! Such an interesting house, full of history and stories – and now our memories too! Comfy beds, hot, powerful showers, very clean – what more could we ask? The setting is idyllic. So much to explore, we’ll have to come back again. The autumn colours are magical. Also very knowledgeable, kind and friendly hosts. What a gem of a find!

The moment we set eyes on the wonderful house, it oozed charm and beauty from the driveway. Once inside, it was like being in a fairytale, especially sitting on the chaise lounge in the master bedroom. Very peaceful and calming. The huge Christmas tree was a lovely surprise. The gargoyles are friendly by the way and made me feel looked after and we slept really well in the very comfortable bed. The inclement weather gave us an excuse to stay in all day and play games in the super comfy large lounge. The six of us felt cosy and warm. What a beautiful place. The grounds are magical too with the little waterfalls. Thank you for your hospitality on arrival and sharing what is a dream home.
